Yes I believe almost anything is better than Purina Dog Chow, but many people are uniformed when it comes to the quality of the foods they buy for their pets. Six or 7 years ago I was one of these people. I actually fed Sweety Purina Dog Chow. I've since seen the light. For me it was almost like somebody "switched the light on", the more I read about raw feeding, it just became obvious to me that feeding raw was the best thing I could do, nutritionally for Sweety. I cannot be convinced that pet food companies have figured out in 70 odd years, what has taken nature thousands of years.

For further reading, here is an article by canid evolutionary biologist and geneticist Dr. David K Wayne; Of Wolves and Dogs Dispelling the Myths.- http://bit.ly/5eHu3N This quote from the paper makes it pretty clear in my mind. Wolves don't eat kibble.“Dogs are gray wolves, despite their diversity in size and proportion” Junk Pet Food and the Damage Done http://bit.ly/7FyuRu - by Australian Veterinarian Dr. Tom Lonsdale really hits home not only the harmful effects of feeding commercial pet food, but how terribly inadequate the "nutrition" from such products really is.

Isn't almost anything better than Purina Dog Chow?! I'm joking - sort of. But it seems that going raw is all the rage these days, and don't you have to look into what your dog does best on - whether it's dry, canned, or raw? Do you have additional information that shows the benefits (and detriments) of going raw? I am very interested as we are looking to change the food we are currently feeding our boys and would love to get better information.
