You may have or may have not noticed, but this week I returned to a Monday, Wednesday, Friday posting schedule, but with an added weekly recap on Saturday. I tried a Tuesday, Thursday, Friday posting schedule, but to be honest that felt “out of balance” to me. If you care to, leave a comment below and give me your thoughts on which schedule you prefer, or if it even matters at all.
Oh, Monday’s post was boring, I was just announcing my new newsletter. If you’d like to read more about that, click here.
The Poop at Doggy Bytes This Week
If you missed my posts this week, I tackled a couple of sensitive subjects. Wednesday’s post entitled Why Do Dogs Eat Poop I discuss, well, why it is that dogs eat feces. Good stuff! In Friday’s post I talked about the whether it’s a good idea or not to feed a “home cooked” diet for dogs.
GPF is on the move
In other news, Amy & Rod Burkert of Go Pet Friendly have packed up their new Winnebago, loaded up Buster & Ty and are now “On The Road With Winnebago”. Watch their blog for trip updates.
Grooming For Dollars
Have you ever wondered why it costs SO much more to get your dog’s haircut than your own? Pawsh Dog Spa explains why here in this post Why Grooming Your Dog Costs More Than Your Haircut.
BSL Defeat & Getting Your Dog’s Attention
It’s been a busy week over at Dancing Dog Blog. Being a Pit Bull owner this post Pit Bull Law Defeated in Elgin!stood out for me. The town of Elgin has decided to place the responsibility of the actions of a dog, squarely on the shoulders of its owner, where it should be. Keeping your dog under control whether on leash or off, requires good communication between you and your dog. Usually that requires eye contact, which dog trainer Eric Goebelbecker of Dog Spelled Forward teaches how to do in this guest post.
Rainbow Bridge: What about street dogs and shelter dogs?
I guess you could say I’m a typical guy, I don’t much believe in “everything happens for a reason”, or that today all Sagittarians will find love and money. I’m also not a believer in a life hereafter, at least in theay that wmany people believe in the notion. I believe that when we die, that’s pretty much it, but – the energy that was “us” re-joins the vast pool of energy that encompasses the universe and everything in it.
I do that I do get choked up when I think about Sweety and eventually Zeus leaving this world. I would like to believe that when they do go, they’ll make their way to the fabled Rainbow Bridge and wait for me there. Sweety and Zeus are dearly loved, but what about street dogs and shelter dogs, if there is a Rainbow Bridge, would they go there too? If they did, who would they be waiting for? Edie’s latest post over at Will My Dog Hate Me asks the question The Rainbow Bridge: What’s in it for shelter dogs?” There is some comic relief at the end of her post.
See ya next week!
